Beauty Edit | January

January is the month I feel most uninspired; not only when it comes to my make up but in general as well. The times of festive and berry autumn and christmas make up are over and the pretty pastells of spring still seem light years away.

One thing I always seem to yearn for at the beginning of a new year though is dewy, fresh looking skin. Even though I love me a good smokey eye, I have hardly reached for my eyeshadow palettes these past few weeks. Most days I put some bronzer in my crease and then I'm good to go. These dark and cold days I like it quick and simple.

I have gravitated back to old favourites of mine like the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara that gives you the most beautifully lifted and long lashes, the Nars Orgasm Blush and the Mac Cream Color Base in Hush which is the prettiest natural highlight and also looks good on pale January skin.

But I have also found some new favourites in the lip department. Ever since I saw the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb online I knew that it would be my go-to lipgloss for a very long time. So when I stumbled upon it in Harvey Nichols in Edinburgh I had my credit card at the ready in no time. This is just a universally flaterring shade of peachy-nude that gives you that "Oh, I don't care about make up, I naturally look this good" look, which I am all for right about now. Finally, I fell in love with the Tanya Burr lipstick in Pink Cocoa, which sounds more pink than it actually is. I love to pair it up with the Fenty Gloss Bomb, as well.

And there you go. With a lightweight foundation and a bit of concealer this has basically been my make up 24/7.

Dou you like to pack on the make up in January or go a little bit more natural?

xx Laura
