Dreamy autumnal Make up
I am back! And so is autumn! I can't describe my current level of happiness and content without screaming from the rooftops. With the start of September, which was accompanied by a pretty amazing drop in temperatures and the odd rainy day, I become a completely different person. My mood takes a 180 degree turn and I feel all lit up with happiness and excitement. Some people may find it a bit extreme how much the season affects my mood, but I can't help it. The first time I truly felt autumnal this year and gave myself permission to do so because it was finally September, my eyes filled with tears of joy! (I'm insane, I know)
But enough of my unequivocal love for autumn and more about one of the best parts of it: autumnal make up. I have been craving to wear more reddy/orangy/browny shades for as long as June so ,as you can imagine, when the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette was released this summer I was ready to spend my coin. And I did. This palette has been my prized posession for one whole day and I already can't live without it. There has never been a palette, that has been 100% up my street. There's always these two or three shades that you never touch or that don't suit you but with this there is none of that. Theres has never been a more perfect combination of shades, shimmers and mattes and I know that I will use and love this palette to bits. The quality of the shaddows is, of course, amazing as you can't expect anything else from Urban Decay shaddows. The only thing that I noticed is that the mattes are a little bit more powdery than I would normally like but for the pigmentation and great blendability I am on board with it, anyway.
Autumn is also the time of a more noticeable highlight. While I go for a very natural and creamy highlight in spring and summer, in autumn I crave a more dramatic look, which is why I rediscovered my Urban Decay Afterglow Highlighter through a recent vanity clear out. Sin is the perfect warm-golden shade, that pairs impeccably with all the warm eyeshadows from the Naked heat palette and I am utterly in love with that look at the moment.
Last but not least I have been rekindling my love with a matte lip. I am a hopeless advocate of lip gloss and aren't normally about that liquid lipstick life but for autumn I'm gonna make an exception. I am still wearing a lot of lip gloss on a daily basis but a matte lip here and there can't hurt from time to time, I guess.
What make up items are you most excited to wear in autumn?
xx Laura
